So you are asking your self "I would like to have a web site but I don't know where to begin". Well I am going to give you a few pointers and resources to get started with.

First you will need to figure out what you like to share with the world. Maybe you just want to show off pictures of your kids. Or you want to share you family history or genealogy.

Once that is decided you will need to think of a color scheme or design. If you are unsure there are places on the web that already have some laid out for you to use. (I have provided some in my Graphics Area). It is best to add things to your site that will want to make people come back to you site like valuable information, free stuff and more. There is also ways to get traffic to your site by swapping banners and links. (I will be adding links on the resource page for some of the banner sites).

You will need to pick out a web editor to use (Check out the resource links to several free & Demo apps.) As well as tips on how to use them.

Ok you say you have this done. How do I get my site  from my computer to the web and where do I put it? I use a program called WS-FTP95 to "FTP" the information to my site. Or if you are using Microsoft FrontPage you can publish right from that program.

The next thing to do after you have made your site available is to let people know that you have made your place on the web. The best way to do this is to register with the all of the search engines you can. But before you do that you might want to test your site to see everything works (No broken links and that you have good design) .
